Powdered mulberry tea is enjoyed as a caffeine-free substitute for matcha in Japan, especially among people sensitive to caffeine, women during pregnancy, and small children. Compared to regular matcha, Shimane Organic Farm’s Organic Mulberry Matcha is less bitter and has a refreshing taste with a herb-like aroma. It also boasts a clearer green color, making it perfect for cooking. Nutritiously, it contains 11 times more calcium than regular matcha and has an abundance of iron, potassium, and fiber.

Organic Mulberry Matcha is made with 100% mulberry leaves grown in Shimane Organic Farm’s own fields certified by JAS (Japan Agricultural Standards) with no chemical fertilizers or pesticides. Mulberry leaves are carefully processed at every step without added artificial food colorings or flavorings. The company utilizes its originally-developed, low-temperature drying method to slowly dehydrate the leaves over a 48-hour period, helping retain the mulberry leaves’ valuable properties. Mulberry matcha can be enjoyed exactly like regular matcha, both cold and hot.

Mulberry Matcha Tea—Whisk 1 teaspoon of Organic Mulberry Matcha into 1/4 cup of hot water.

Mulberry Matcha Ice Soy Latte—Place 1 1/2 teaspoons of Organic Mulberry Matcha in a glass, add 200ml (about 3/4 cup) of soy milk, and stir well.

Banana Mulberry Matcha Ice Cream—Peel 2 bananas and cut into small chunks. Put the cut bananas, 1 1/2 teaspoons of Organic Mulberry Matcha, and a splash of rice milk into a food processor, and mix. Freeze the mixture until it has the consistency of ice cream.
